Exceptional Equine Care,
Rooted in Experience & Commitment

At Humphrey, Giacopuzzi & Associates Equine Hospital (HGAE), we are dedicated to providing the highest level of veterinary care for horses. With over 35 years of experience, we provide comprehensive primary and referral care, including around-the-clock emergency services. Our team includes two board-certified surgeons and two board-certified internal medicine specialists, providing expertise across a range of specialties.

We deliver a full range of services at our equine hospital, including emergency and elective surgeries, intensive care, lameness evaluations, reproductive and neonatal care, neurology, ophthalmology, veterinary spinal manipulation referred to as "chiropractic care" on the human-medicine side, VMM, and more.

Advancements in veterinary technology and procedures allow us to offer increasingly comfortable, effective care for our patients, and more horse owners are recognizing the difference. Our team is guided by animal-centered and client-centered principles, ensuring that each horse and their owner receives the respect, education, and compassionate attention they deserve. Trust is at the heart of what we do, and we are honored to partner with you in safeguarding your horse’s health.

Our mission is simple: provide exceptional medical care, empower and educate our clients, and uphold a culture of respect for patients and the healthcare team alike.

A Legacy of Veterinary Excellence.

The roots of Humphrey, Giacopuzzi & Associates Equine Hospital stretch back to a dairy farm in Canoga Park, California, where cousins Dr. Michael W. Giacopuzzi and Dr. Richard L. Giacopuzzi first developed their passion for animal care. Both earned their veterinary degrees from UC Davis and joined Dr. Weden P. Humphrey’s large animal ambulatory practice, Dr. Richard in 1979, and Dr. Mike in 1980.

In 1983, the Giacopuzzis purchased Dr. Humphrey’s practice, and by 1988, they established Humphrey Giacopuzzi Equine Hospital as a full-service equine care facility. Over the decades, they have not only built a thriving veterinary practice but also contributed actively to animal welfare and the local community. Today, HGAE remains committed to advancing equine medicine while honoring the tradition of personalized, expert care on which it was founded.
