We are a full service equine
facility which has been open for over
20 years providing primary and
referral services. The scope of our services include an ambulatory
field practice providing routine and emergency services 7 days a week
with surgery on both an elective and emergency basis. Around-the-clock
intensive care on medical and surgical cases, which includes:
neurological, neonatal, ophthalmologic, Cardio pet services. Lameness
evaluations, diagnostic work-ups, and consultations
Like
most equine hospitals, colic surgery is our most common emergency
surgery. We see all types of colic cases and maintain a high success
rate on surgical cases.

We have
the capability of surgically managing most orthopedic procedures. These
include: jaw fractures, pastern fractures, distal metacarpal III
condoler fractures, most long bone fractures, diagnostic and surgical
arthroscopy, and traumatic injuries such as facial fractures, severe
lacerations, tendon injuries, and developmental orthopedic diseases. We
have a CO2 LASER for tumor removal surgery. We offer an in-house
laboratory, as well as a 1000 Ma X-ray unit. Also available is video
endoscope, video gastroscopy, diagnostic and surgical laparoscopy and
diagnostic ultrasound.
Our
reproductive services include stallion collection for semen evaluation
and chilled semen shipping, as well as routine services for mares and
stallions. We also offer the foaling out of high risk mares, as well
as routine foaling at our facility. Freezing semen, storing semen, as
well as embryo transfer are now available.
Several
of our doctors enjoy working up extensive lameness evaluations. Quite
often the time it takes to do a thorough lameness evaluation and work-up
in the field is not always feasible. These extensive procedures may be
better accomplished in our hospital environment where diagnostic
radiographs can be developed and evaluated almost immediately. For the
same reasons we also recommend
“prepurchase
evaluations”
to be done at the hospital. Also available is advanced equine
dentistry, either in-house or by Justin Christensen, IAED - Eq DT/CA,
under veterinary supervision in house.
Our
dedicated doctors have special interests within the practice. For
example:
Dr.
Richard Giacopuzzi enjoys internal medicine, ophthalmology, and
reproduction services.
Dr.
Michael Giacopuzzi enjoys routine and emergency surgery and lameness
evaluations.
Dr.
Nicole Johnson specialist in routine and emergency
surgery, lameness evaluations, arthroscopy and orthopedic surgery.
Dr.
Jim Giacopuzzi works on our patients that need orthopedic corrective
shoeing as needed.
Dr.
Bruce Kuesis is available for internal medicine consultation on an as needed basis.
